Sadly followed by September, October, November and it looks like December is tagging along! :(…

August, the month began and I didn’t wanting to do anything, the very thought of actually having to do something creative made me want to run and hide under my duvet forever… I even went up to Alnwick for a long weekend and didn’t go to the beach – got really sick and spent 3 days in bed!!!

As August neared the middle,  i-am-will (number 1 son!!) went on Cricket tour to York and looking back over this month I felt the at the time that the beginnings of the creative seeds were sewn again…  I took out the video camera – for the first time in I couldn’t tell you how many years… but it wasn’t enough…  (I am now supposed to be working on editing 6 hours into a fun 20 min video :) I really want to do it, but it seems the want is more that actual doing…

Then September, I went to one of my favourite gardens, Coton Manor  I bought some wonderful tulip bulbs to plant up in October for a wonderful spring tulip fest :) – for those who don’t really know me… I am not a gardener, I love flowers and home grown fruits and veg but gardening really well I am not sure… maybe its that commitment thing, to have an amazing garden, allotment,  you really need to commit and well if I am honest I am not sure I’m there yet – commitment – kids well in my book they are kinda different they stick to you like limpets and with my children there appears to be this kinda weird thing going on that when honestly I could seriously give then away they stick to me like glue and aint gonna budge no matter how much chocolate and late nights you offer them and then when they are being the most evil they can be I really wouldn’t exchange them for all the tea in China – why I have no idea, it just happens like that and I am begining to accept that is the way its supposed to be :)

October… umm November… :(((

December… well there is so so much I haven’t done… haven’t made my own wrapping paper – that I have done before, I haven’t done any christmas cards… either bought or handmade (and I have made lots of handmade cards before).

I love making and doing all the handmade things… but somehow I am just lacking in the doing…

Butterfly runouts :)

Cake with supports in ready for top cake to sit on top… yes I know that they are not centred I wanted the top cake to sit to the back giving me this banana moon shape at the front.

Now for the top tear on and pearling… and butterflies…

It isn’t really finished quite the way I had envisioned… I would have liked to have made some delicate flowerpaste butterflies on wires flying above the cake and possibly a few more roses… but I tell you it is really time consuming (especially if you are a beginner like myself… ) and I ran out of time… also was nervous of over decorating if you know what I mean.  Finally I did have a go at a filigree butterfly…

About the health benefits well I am no expert in anything medical – do I feel better, actually ‘hell yeah baby’…  is it because of the matcha tea… seriously I am not sure I have not reverted back to pre-matcha tea to see what happens… not sure I want to… ;P

And so for the first brew :)  Real tea in a pot…

‘Any month that starts with a hangover, followed by a diet and hideous credit card bills, doesn’t have a lot going for it…’ (sadly not my witty remarks but something i read by Lindsay Nicholson Editorial Director of Good housekeeping magazine), that said I have made it through and had a pretty good month – I am really hoping that it is only gonna get better from here on in … but as I keep reading and hearing people say on the radio etc… my life is what ‘I’ make it and how determined I am to make it…. and I am still feeling pretty positive so … bring on February :)

Gaaah it seriously smells so so bad! :(

Meeting in 30mins – dilema does burnt egg pan smell better or worse than fabreeeeeez….

OK so rambling, as part of new year weekly goals this week I am supposed to be writing a blog post as part of this weeks goal – do i have anything to say… well no not really, could I rant about a billion things that have got on my nerves… well yes, would you be interested to read them… well probably not….

So where does that leave us…

We are tracking Santa via http://www.noradsanta.org/en/index.html which the kids are really enjoying ☺.

They are at this moment sat around the table peeling and cutting the veg for tomorrow while I sit with a glass of wine writing my last minute Christmas emails. Mum is sat knitting – she is just finishing Mary and baby Jesus for the Christmas knitted nativity (I will post some photos when its finished its fantastic).
Will has been watching the highlights of the Ashes – the other week he had a grin from ear to ear for days as he is training winter nets at the Cricket ground and his coach said he could be the next KP (kevin Pietersen) he was so proud of himself – it was lovely. Of course as soon as we started to play so badly he has gone rather quiet about the comment!!

Most of the UK has been at a standstill for the last week to 10 days and finally to had our quota of snow on Wednesday so it is a beautiful winter wonderland outside and cold to boot.

Well Ricky’s Bar is officially open and its cocktails all round – so Cheer to you all and hope you have a wonderful Christmas and all the very very best for 2011.
